FAQs

  • Prospective gymnasts are very welcome to attend a taster session before joining a Dreamweaver Gymnastics class or being added to our waiting list. This allows children to experience the session and ensure it’s the right fit before committing.

If your child wishes to continue after the taster session and a place is available, they will need to be registered with British Gymnastics. This involves a one-off payment to cover annual membership and insurance, in line with national governing body requirements.

To book a taster session, please visit our Taster Session page.

  • We recommend that all prospective gymnasts attend a taster session before enrolling. This gives your child the opportunity to experience a session and ensure it’s the right fit before committing.

Following the taster session, if your child would like to continue and a place is available, please email the Club and we will send you our welcome pack, which includes full enrolment details, membership information and next steps.

Once enrolled, your child will be registered with British Gymnastics, which includes the required insurance and membership in line with national governing body guidelines.

  • During our classes, gymnasts are given the opportunity to experience a broad range of gymnastics disciplines in a safe and supportive environment. Sessions may include elements of general gymnastics, sports acrobatics, tumbling and rhythmic gymnastics, depending on age and ability.

Gymnasts will work on a variety of skills across different apparatus, including vault, bars, beam, as well as floor-based tumbling and acrobatics. Our fully qualified coaches ensure that activities are age-appropriate, well-structured and focused on building confidence, coordination and enjoyment.

  • Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and observe their child’s first session, allowing time to see how their gymnast settles into the group and the class environment.

After the initial session, parents are not permitted to remain in the gym during classes due to health and safety considerations, unless there are exceptional circumstances which have been discussed and agreed in advance with the Head Coach.

Throughout the year, we organise a range of displays, competitions and open sessions, where parents, relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend and watch the gymnasts as they train and perform.

  • Our fees vary depending on the class and session time. To receive the most up-to-date information on term fees, availability and enrolment details, please email the Club and we will be happy to send you a copy of our current pricing and welcome information.

  • For safety and comfort, we ask that gymnasts wear appropriate clothing during classes.

    • Girls: a leotard

    • Boys: shorts and a t-shirt

    • In colder weather, a tracksuit may be worn on top during warm-up, but should be removed for training where appropriate.

For health and safety reasons, the following are not permitted during gymnastics sessions:

    • Loose or oversized clothing

    • Denim

    • Jewellery, including earrings

    • Chewing gum

    • Socks

    • Clothing with zips, buttons or hoods

Gymnasts with long hair must have it tied back securely at all times.

We also kindly ask that children do not wear crop tops during training sessions, as coaches need to be able to support gymnasts safely and appropriately.

These guidelines help ensure a safe, focused and comfortable environment for all gymnasts.

  • Yes. At Dreamweaver Gymnastics Club, we provide structured training towards progressive skill levels, with gymnasts working towards certificates and badges as they develop.

We follow the Rise Gymnastics programme, a national development framework run by British Gymnastics, which we use with all gymnasts at the Club. This scheme focuses on building strong foundations, confidence and key gymnastics skills, while recognising progress and achievement at every stage.

For older gymnasts, we are also able to support progression towards British Gymnastics qualifications, including Assistant Coach and Club Coach awards in General Gymnastics or Sports Acrobatics, for those who wish to explore coaching pathways.
